Maestro Technique Lecture

Here’s a helpful guide for framing your eyebrows by face shape.

Oval

Oval face shapes graciously tapers towards the chin, having a wider forehead and prominent cheekbones; Ideal face shape.

Brows: Maintain your ideal Oval shape with soft, angled eyebrows

Long

Long face shapes tapers towards the chin with elongated features from forehead to chin; some have prominent chin.

Brows: a flat shape, the horizontal shape would stop the onlooker from seeing the elongated face, making it appear shorter.

Round

The face width and length are almost the same, yet widest at the cheeks.

Brows: make round face shape appear longer with a High Arch. The up & down vertical lines would draw someones eyes up and down while lengthening it. Create more vertical lines as you can and avoid rounded brows as it makes face more round.

Square

The forehead, cheekbones and jawline are almost the same width; square, bony jawline are prominent.

Brows: to soften and balance strong jawline, depending on the jawline, start with a curved eyebrow shape then add more angle to create balance. The stronger, more bony the jawline, the more angled your brow shape should be. A defined, sharp peak at top of the brow makes it appear longer.

Heart

Face strongly tapers towards chin; chin tends to be pointy and forehead may be very prominent.

Brows: soften and balance strong prominent chin and perhaps forehead depending on how prominent… Start with a low arch, round curved brows and add more volume to it as if it adds more length to the forehead too, balancing the pointy chin.

Diamond

Face shape highly angular and somewhat bony, widest at temples.

Brows: soften whole face by making widest portion, less wide. Curved eyebrow shape, the curves will soften the angled face and reduce the widest part of face: temples.
