Maestro Technique Lecture

Texture tends to be one of the biggest issues for many as various factors play into how even our texture may be. We have to take into account your immediate environment, atmosphere, diet, free radicals, UVA/UVB Rays, etc.

All of these things combined can have a major impact on our skin/epidermis thus it is imperative to take preventative steps to protect and have a daily skincare routine.

I’ll explain ways to even out our texture with skincare and makeup products

Exfoliate

Exfoliating helps rejuvenate the skin by getting rid of dead skin cells from the epidermis, saying goodbye to dull skin and helping even out texture. Chemical Peels are great for repairing rough skin and removing any sun damage while stimulating cell regrowth. Not only does this balance pigmentation but smooths out the skins surface as well.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C helps improve the skins texture by repairing and protecting your skin from environmental damage while reducing pigmentation. A nice glow comes from the Vit. C giving you a refreshed, and well-rested look. There is also something to be said about Sebum Production that does play a role in your skins texture.

Sebum is an oily substance made out of fats produced by your body. Sebum isn’t entirely bad however too much can cause clogged pores, acne and oily skin. Genetics, hormonal changes and/or even stress can increase levels of sebum production. I highly recommend trying to regulate your sebum production by using a gentle serum or an oil-based product.

Primers

Lets’ say you’re in a rush, haven’t taken care of your skin or just have underlying skin issues you’re dealing with. You can most definitely smooth out your uneven skin texture with a quality primer such as Makeup Forevers Step 1 Skin Equalizer: Smoothing Primer. Now, this is only a short-term fix and doesn’t really cure the issue at hand but great for a quick fix.

Focus the the product on the T-zone then move outward in circular motions as you want to get the blood flowing underneath the skin, prepping it for application over texture.
