The Difference Between Natural and Synthetic Brushes

Natural brushes are typically made out of various animal hairs, which is why they're extremely durable and actually get better as you use them. They also have cuticles which is great for blending properties. Not only do they help lift and absorb powders along the skins oils but blend them into a natural, non-blotchy look. The bristles move more freely, allowing you to pick up enough product in one swipe (works best with powders).

Synthetic brushes are created out of man-made bristle such as nylon or other synthetic fibers. They don't have cuticles, making them awesome to use with liquid or cream products. These brushes won't trap or absorb the products which is a plus for a more precise, finished look. The bristles tend to gravitate towards one another, which is perfect for a smooth, streak-free application.
