Skin Types and Skin Prep Before Makeup Application

1. Always start with getting a makeup wipe to clear any excess oils or dirt (this tip is for all skin types). It'll slightly exfoliate the skin; making room for a fresh, new surface layer of skin to evenly apply makeup. Make sure to go in circular motions (making circles move outward from the center of your face). Don't apply primer until you're ready for foundation.

OILY/COMBINATION SKIN: Next, apply any toner and moisturizer with a CLEAN foundation brush. I don't suggest using your hands unless you washed them because you don't want to drag any unnecessary dirt's/oils BACK onto your skin. Apply an *Oil-Free* eye cream (SO IMPORTANT) and lightly DAB into the skin. Try to always use Oil-Free products for best results.

DRY SKIN:

Not sure if you have Dry Skin? See what it's like after taking a shower. If it's tight, it's dry.

-Add moisturizing oil in T-Zone, make sure you let it sit for a few moments to let your skin absorb the nutrients. Afterwards, apply an intensive eye cream. Next, use a thick (cream) moisturizer with a Duo Fiber brush (great for dehydrated skin). This allows the brush to even out the product onto the skin so it's not too heavy in certain areas. Allow 15 minutes or so for the skin to fully absorb it.

TIP: ALWAYS add moisturizer to the neck since you'll be blending your products down to your neck/neck line anyway to prevent creases/subtle differences in skin tones.

ACNE-PRONE SKIN:

For Acne-Prone skin, follow step 1 with more delicacy since this skin type is more sensitive.

Do a light exfoliation with makeup wipes in circular motions. I HIGHLY suggest applying Mac's Fix + Spray and use a duo Fiber (synthetic brush) to lightly buff into the skin. Apply an illuminating face serum (The brand 'Tulia' works great for Acne-Prone skin). This will even out skin tone with a youthful glow and luminous radiance. Make sure you apply with a CLEAN foundation brush so it can penetrate the skin nicely. Give it about 2 minutes to settle in.

Apply moisturizer (Murad works best for ALL skin types, especially this one), with a duo fiber brush and dab into the skin - areas where you want hydrated, then buff in & work into the neck. Use an eye cream (First Aid Beauty & Predire Paris eye cream are amazing) since it'll de-puff and brighten the eye area.
