#Skincare Benefits of Seed (Sunflower) Oil

I’m sure my oily/combo skin types are running, far, far away from the thought of incorporating various oils into their skincare routine. However, the underlying reason as to why oily skin types have difficulties managing their over-production of oil, is because your skin is over-compensating for lack-thereof. Weird, right? Here’s the break down.

Oils are necessary for protecting the epidermis and providing a protective barrier against harsh chemicals and/or free radicals while providing the nourishment your skin yearns for. I’ll be covering the various benefits in regards to different types of oils; runner up is Sunflower Oil.

Sunflower Oil is rich in Vitamin E, which is responsible for wound healing, reducing skin itching and/or irritation, prevents and minimizes the appearance of scars, wrinkles and fine lines. Keep in mind that Free Radicals prevents the healing of damaged tissue. Vitamin E smooths and repairs acne scarring and damaged tissue substantially over a 6-week time period of consistent use. This makes the oil soothing, calming and rich in emollients as it reduces and fights acne, eczema, inflammation and redness.

Dry and/or mature skin types benefit from Sunflower Oil greatly as it helps skin retain moisture throughout your busy day. It’s rich in Vitamins A, C, D and E, with vitamin E taking precedence in the rejuvenation and invigoration of your skins health. The vitamins and fatty acids act as an antioxidant to regenerate your skin cells while fighting off bacteria.

Familiar with Beta-Carotene? It’s abundant in Sunflower Oil. If not, Beta-Carotene is a forced to be reckoned with as it protects and enhances your skin, making you less sensitive to sun rays and other harsh pollutants. How does it do this? The antioxidants in it neutralize the free radicals that cause sunburn, skin cancer, wrinkles, etc. As a result, it acts as a powerful anti-aging force that reduces premature signs of aging.

I don’t suggest applying the oil straight to your face as it’s very potent and too much can cause a yucky, slippery surface that feels uncomfortable. It’s ideal to dilute the oil or maybe even add a bit to your moisturizer. You’ll find effective and and quick results if properly diluted and applied with articulation.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to review my content and remember, #SkincareMatters… xoxo
