Setting Sprays We All Need During #HotGirlSummer

We’re back! Thank you for everyone’s patience in regards to the restructuring of NovasGrandeurs Production team. We love our supporters so much <3

Now that we’re back at it, lets talk about how ridiculous this summer heat is becoming. Even though I love wearing my glam makeup, these days call for a lighter application and much less product. Yet, I’ve tried Wayne Goss Techniques that were centralized around using less product and found it rewarding.

Setting Spray plays a very important role throughout the application process as it provides hydration, and a great base that doesn’t budge when it comes to water, sweat, etc. We definitely don’t need that in our life!

As I’ve mentioned previously; I had oily/combo skin but since using an organic skincare line recently I now have a normal skin type.

Through trial and error, here are the best Setting Sprays for #HotGirlSummer:

When you need your makeup to be indestructible and/or Waterproof

  1. Ben Nye’s Final Matte Seal Setting Spray… I can’t find another setting spray that tops this one. Ben Nye is an exceptional brand and I commend their teams on the amazing collaboration of both safe and long-wearing makeup. It has a mint scent and each spray is a bit intense so 1-2 is all you’ll need. It’ll probably feel like it’s adhering to your skin and sticky but it quickly dries in 30-60 seconds. That’s how strongly it holds up your makeup but the sticky feeling lasts under a minute. You go could White Water Rafting and your makeup will STILL be flawless. Not sure what sorcery they use but it’s amazing.

For Sensitive Skin

  1. Laura Gellers Setting Spray… I highly recommend this for my extremely sensitive, acne-prone or sunburned skin clients due to the healing properties it provides. The hydrating effect on the skin is very soothing and my makeup lasted 15 hours while wearing this spray. Enough said.

  2. Smashbox Cosmetics-Photo Finish Primer Water… A fine mist, that hydrates, soothes and cools the skins surface. It applies gently on the skin and truly rejuvenates the epidermis, making it a great boost when you’re not wearing makeup either. This spray is universal and would do well with most, if not all skin types. #NGmaestro Tip: try putting it in a cool place or in the fridge for a refreshing boost.

Favorites and Go-To’s:

You know it, Urban Decays Setting Spray Collection. Urban Decay is partnered with Skindinavia which is also an exceptional setting spray line that’s well-know in the MUA community. Scandinavia is revered for the technology they use to create a gentle, yet indestructible setting spray. The All-Nighter will always be my go-to, however, when it comes to seasonal changes I typical switch out which ones i’m using from UD. For #HotGirlSummer we only have two trues loves: UD Chill, Cooling and Hydrating Spray & B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Spray.

UD Chill, Cooling and Hydrating Spray is a no-brainer for summer, especially when you live in the south. The humidity is not friendly here in North Carolina and will have you sweating as soon as you step outside… gross and annoying, I know. The sprayer technology is made to give off a fine-mist that you can hardly feel when applying.

UD B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Spray absorbs oil making you less shiny which is so vital in summer. For oily types, the summer heat can really open the pores and make your face feel like a slippin slide, so you’ll need this in your bag 100%. I enjoy how this spray is versatile enough to be beneficial for all skin types as the main focus is balancing any factors that could alter and/or mess with the skin or application such as; free radicals, environmental conditions, heat, season change, etc.
