Lets Talk about Color-Correctors and Which Ones to Use

Before we get into color-correcting, it's always essential to determine your undertones so that you know which color corrector to use, if any is needed. Also, a HUGE beauty tip to those who use red color corrector: NEVER use red and/or orange lipstick to color correct since that's a huge trend on social media now (unfortunately)!

I discourage this greatly, because the chemicals used in the lipstick most likely won't react well to the products you'll be using on your skin - thus, your foundations and/or concealers will be prone to pill... and that's not a good look whatsoever. Not only that, it's not sanitary! Doing so will deposit harsh and unnecessary oils/heavy chemicals into the skins epidermis (especially under the eyes) which is a big no-no since that area is extremely delicate due to only having 3 layers of skin.

GREEN COLOR CORRECTOR:

- Use a green-based CONCEALER if there is any redness, zits, or acne scars.
- Apply a green-based PRIMER if you have any wind-burn, sunburn, or rosacea.

YELLOW COLOR CORRECTOR:

- Yellow-based concealers are great for purple or blue undertones, bruises, veins, and dull circles around the eye.

PURPLE & LAVENDER COLOR CORRECTOR:

- Purple, lavender, and lilac concealers are good for getting rid of unwanted yellow tones.
- Those with a pasty, dull, or yellow complexion will benefit drastically form purple or lavender concealers/primers since it brightens your overall complexion!

SALMON OR PEACH TONE COLOR CORRECTING:

- Salmon or peach tone concealers are ideal for brightening around the eye area for those with heavy, dark under-eye circles and masking any signs of fatigue
- A peach PRIMER is going to work best for warmer, golden undertones (used to soften the tan a bit) and toning down any orange colors on the face/neck.
- An apricot PRIMER will make you look more warm, brighter, and tanner (sun-kissed).

I hope this helped! Please feel free to leave any questions below in regards to determining your undertones.
